Curious about the prospect of work with GAS, dont know much about them but have seen their planes around and about. Are they a reasonable outfit to fly for? What sort of hours do they generally look for in new employees etc?

Looks for guys with an instructor rating. Most guys join with 1000hrs+ and multi time girls join with basic cpl...

Good flying. Good hours. If your a "chosen one" it's a good gig. Be aware the owner can be quite bipolar and if you get on his wrong side you'll know it.

So they are like nearly every other GA operator Xcel?

Investigate the number of fatal accidents that have come out of that place if you decide you really want to work there.

Had a ball there many years ago.

Worked very hard and did long hours. You were appreciated by old man Dave and he certainly helped when the time came to move up onto bigger machinery. Got immeasurable experience, had a heap of laughs and spent a lot if time in Debernales. Loved Kalgoorlie. If we had a base I'd be there in a second.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I'm with you m-dot, good company to work for and great town to live in... the Tower Hotel was more my scene.:cool:

You won't need 1000hrs to be considered, but some quality charter experience will go along way. If you're a good worker and don't winge all the time, you'll have a ball.

Plenty of guys and gals flying for Qantas, Virgin and more recently, Skywest, got their start at GAS.

Thats interesting to know thanks guys. Ive got about 3000TT of which about 5-600 would be charter. Dont have any Twin to speak of besides an initial rating and if he looks for instructor ratings im not going to get far. Just working on the instrument rating now so with any luck someone might talk to me. Gotta start somewhere I guess.

Cheers for the info guys. Ive got about 3000 hours TT but only 6 of that is in a twin so I might have to dazzle them with bull**** to convince them to get a job, especially with no instructor rating. Ive got about 500 Charter flyng tho which I guess cant hurt. Got t start some where I guess tho

LadyLlamapilot, just some kind advice. I would not be saying things on here such as "I might have to dazzle them with bull**** to convince them to get a job" You never know who could be reading these posts. If you get an interview, they might be able to work you out with your flying background that you have mentioned already.
