If you have a handheld video camera you can grab a 3.5mm cord and a 3.5mm to headset size converter (the headset plug, not the mike). You can then set the camera up and plug the microphone jack into the headset socket and start recording video. This may work for mp3 audio devices that record but I'm not sure.

Little help: Headset size is plug is a 6.5mm Jack, the same as those found in most audio equipment, easy to acquire. - 3.5mm-6.5mm Jacks are $3-$4 each.
