To those who know of this aircraft, and its intersting past, turns out it went to visit the beach today...

I think you'll find the pilot is a she, and i think she did a great job.

It must be about time they fitted a permanent skid plate, to the nose of FTM?? :p
At least it looks like it's parked above the high tide mark? Could have been a panic on, if it ended up on the beach between the tide marks? It's lucky it's only about a 5M tide at present... :) http://i29.tinypic.com/m8crjm.jpg http://i28.tinypic.com/k93z7.jpg |

"Barrier Air Charter planned to employ a security guard to watch over the plane during last night."
So which aspiring young wannabe volunteered to spend a night camped on the beach for free? :E |
As of this morning, they are still trying to determine the cause.
70 litres of fuel in the tanks. Damage is restricted to the nose gear. The prop is reportedly ok. |
No way to treat good old Phantom.
Looking at some old photos from the 80's, the Phantom must be on yet another paint scheme and interior. Was FTM one Merv's aircraft many years ago? |
ftm
not sure if merv had it
it was red and white when I flew it in the late eighties funnily enough i thought it was an old plane then!:) |
It was red and white when I flew it in the late 90s and it was a heap of crap then.
|
Ahhh that prop is kangaroo-ted. Regardless of how it looks.......
Darwin continues to be a great source of entertainment! :ok |
Who will make it three in a row? :E
|
Last I heard it was online in Katherine after Barrier gave it the flick.
