Merged/Renamed: Virgin Blue Recruiting

Anyone in the loop know if VB are still recruiting for domestic ops?? It's been very quiet on this front for a while....???

GAFA 1st Jul 2010 02:58

New induction courses are running at least every 2 months. Interviews were carried out a few weeks back.

chimbu warrior 1st Jul 2010 04:47

........and interviews were held earlier this week too, according to my source.

Could I suggest that you choose a less sensational title for your next thread. :hmm:

According to AERO magazine, they have ordered something like 100+ new aircraft !

HappyBandit 1st Jul 2010 10:13

Come on chimbu....it got you hooked didnt it?? :-) By the way havent seen you around the club lately?

They are still interviewing at the moment. There is some suggestion that courses planned for Sept,Oct,Nov may not occur. Then again maybe B767's are on the way,so the need for pilots may continue.I think the situation in VB is very fluid at present so the need for pilots can change very quickly.

Does anyone know what experience the guys getting interviewed have???

I've had my app in for a while and haven't heard anything?

KRUSTY 34 2nd Jul 2010 22:12

Unless you have fairly solid Regional experience, you may be waiting for some time.

GAFA 3rd Jul 2010 02:12

The last few course have included pilots with wide body, 737, 717, F100, F50, Regional Jet, Saab, Dash 8 and Metro time.

Goat Whisperer 3rd Jul 2010 02:50

Interviews in Brisbane all this week.

20 commands recently announced on the 737.

Mr. Hat 3rd Jul 2010 04:55

What are you waiting for KRUSTY? Saab is in there.

Aussie 3rd Jul 2010 07:22

I got Regional jet time, currently working overseas... anyone know what hrs the interviewees have? Any Overseas drivers get interviews, or just aus employed guys?

GAFA 3rd Jul 2010 07:42

Aussie,

I think there were 2 guys on a recent course who had been flying RJ's overseas.

HappyBandit 3rd Jul 2010 09:16

Yes i too am interested in what experience we are talking about here?

PLovett 3rd Jul 2010 10:46

HappyBandit, the ball-park figures are 3,000 TT minimum with about 1,000 turbine but note this is ball-park and I have heard of some significant variations.

captwawa 3rd Jul 2010 10:54

Bandit,

I got the call this week, EJet with base tbc, I have over 3000 hours with regional turboprop. They are still interviewing as others have said.

Glad I finally got the call :)

redsnail 3rd Jul 2010 12:01

Aussie, I know of one person who has got the nod with VB who's been flying in the UK. (Australian)

PLovett 6th Jul 2010 11:21

You only need the first section. All the rest is for jobs other than line pilots.
