Qantas :Employee Buyout

Firstly is it possible?
Does the Qantas Sale Act provide a barrier?
Most employees have more invested in the company than do management.
Most employees have been with Qantas for decades
So-----What do we think of a buyout?
Do able or just fruitless fantasy?

i will give you 10 bucks for it and 5 for scabstar

Current market cap is about $5.5 billion. 30,000 employees means about $180K each.

I already have my entire career and future income invested in QF, I'm not about to throw more money into the mix. I'll find something that will give a much better return than QF has ever done.

$91K each for control Keg...? Madness!

IPO

The time to exercise some employee control was when QF floated. There were some who were interested......most were not.
An opportunity squandered

In and Out

Have been in and out of Qantas shares at least a dozen times since the float.Have made an absolute killing, not to mention the dividend.
Its been more good luck than good managment at the rat.Qantas gained at least 7 years growth in a year when Ansett fell over.Dixon had no particular talent but pure dumb luck was on his side.
The employees at Qantas have always had more invested in the place than management ever had. When Qantas was taken over by TAA and Strong all the Red Tail Men were given the boot. The place has never been the same
There is more knowledge about how to run an airline amongst the employees than there is with the current crop of management.
An employee buyout would see mainline grow again and perhaps regain some of its former glory.
Yes Yes...I know.....I must be dreamin'
