Jetstar Recruitment

For those that are interested..

A mate of mine spoke to Jetstar Pilot Recruitment this morning and was advised that they are currently screening pilots with 5000+ hours for interviews and those with less hours will be assessed within the next 3 to 6 months. With only 2 people in HR screening, this could take a while!

Wonder how many people just updated their hours to 5000+?

TSIO540 10th Mar 2010 01:29

but but but... I thought you had to double time spent as copilot :ouch:

Pseudonymn 10th Mar 2010 03:10

I dunno about the 5000hr bit (as I know someone who recently started with them with around the 3K mark), however the way it was explained to me was that they are looking for around 140 F/Os during this push, with around 30 selected so far.

Horatio, knowing just how busy you can be throwing your coffee at everyone in your office (including yourself)...... could you call me if you get a moment.:ok:

Mr. Pseudo ;)

I recieved a call the other day and I only have approx 2700 and I know of at least 10 others with quite a bit less than 5000 being called as well.

Good news is at least they are hiring and I keep hearing the target is around 140-160 pilots.:ok:

Anyone got a contact number to speak to Jetstar pilot recruitment direct?
Is this possible, or do they "maintain a distance" from applicants until they need more info?

High_To_Low 13th Mar 2010 21:23

Anyone completed (or in the process of completing) the JQ recruitment process? Just trying to gather some information on the particular stages and what to expect in terms of questions asked etc? Thanks in advance :ok:

Any 457 Visa's?
:oh:

eocvictim 15th Mar 2010 14:22

I know of 6 people who were all recently checked to line FO's with around 2800-3500. :ok:

Long John Silver 16th Mar 2010 00:05

so how far through the process are they? 60 out of 100?

mates rates 16th Mar 2010 00:31

And where are they going to find co-pilots with 5000+ hours prepared to work for those conditions? Tell em their dreamin !! This is HR spin, nothing to do with the reality of supply and demand. They will have to take suitable candidates with 1500+ hours. So if your in that range start pushing your case.Good luck everyone.

I talked to an HR girl around Christmas and she said they were recruiting 140 pilots over 2010 and were constantly hiring a few each week.

F/O or Capt??

140 F/Os or both F/O and capts

AerocatS2A 19th Mar 2010 09:19

She didn't say, I assumed they were all FOs.

thanks mate
:ok:

Zoomy 19th Mar 2010 10:15

So is the general consensous that us with say between 1500 - 2500 will get a shot?:(

Bigbus330 19th Mar 2010 20:35

5000 hours on the 'bus, nothing either.
Wondering if A) Overqualified, or B) All too hard for them, as I'm living in UK at present?

Bigbus330 20th Mar 2010 00:55

Dunno. I have both ATPL's, but I'd imagine you could convert your UK JAR ATPL to an Aussie one without too many problems.
