West or North?

Gidday All Pruners !

After a break of three years to pay off the mortgage Im itching to get back. Ive been doing some part time instructing most weekends but need a full time gig and was wondering if North to Cairns and surrounds or West would be the go? Ive got 3.3k hrs with only 50 multi and current IR. At 36 and married with a couple of kiddles Im certainly no spring chicken ..would this count against me ?Also a qualified spanner swinger! Any advice would be greatfully recieved!

I would say West mate, think there is a large buildup of unemployed pilots up North.
It sounds like most of the smaller companies that fly mine runs require 2 pilots now but not sure on min hour reqs.
Also if you are a qualified LAME im sure that would come in handy for remote operators. Check in Karratha or Geraldton possibly a few other places worth looking at too but couldnt name which ones.
