When will we see NAIPS for mac??
I think that in this modern society we should get a version of NAIPS to use on Mac! Does anyone know of plans to develop it? does anyone have the know how to develop it?
|
Why bother? You can get NAIPS over the internet.
|
|
Run it via parallels / fusion. Not a problem, though admittedly I rarely use it these days as there's no ATC around here...
Parallels on mac works well for Windoze based CBT software. |

Because if we all used macs, IT businesses would have sod all to do. :E

I have recently upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows 7 where NAIPS isn't supported. A recent email I received from AA which may be of interest:
Airservices Australia is not intending to update or develop NAIPS for Windows beyond the current version as a project has commenced that may completely replace both the existing pilot Briefing Web site and the NAIPS for Windows software into a totally internet based tool. At this stage, we are hopeful of delivery in late 2010 of this new site. We will continue to monitor the situation and the progression of the replacement project and changes to the NAIPS for Windows product might become necessary should problems be encountered. |
Surely a MAC can acces the internet? NAIPS is available there.
|
Yep, but the internet version is a crock compared to the windoze programme - Try fixing a mistake or adding a new sector in the internet version http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...milies/eek.gif
Not all of us have Macs with Intel processors, so Parallels/Fusion/Bootcamp et al, aren't options. Hard to justify replacing a perfectly good PBG4 that doesn't skip a beat simply to run one piece of software - no matter how much I'd like to ! This will just go down as another programme long promised and never delivered ... |
Argh Mac! Kill It!!!! Kill It!!!!!! :e
|
how will the naips update in late 2010 effect computerised flight planners such as airnav and champaign ?
|
Geeze you lot are slow... what do you think NAIPS stands for??

Aaaaargh ... having lived with the poxy browser version forever because I use Macs, I just got a netbook with Windoze 7 Home Premium. But does the NAIPS programme run on it ? Not on your nelly.
How can they call all 7 different operating systems "Windows", and the same basic stuff doesn't even run on them ? It's not like NAIPS is a sophistcated programme ! Poxy Windows, poxy naips :-((( |
Apple doesn't help things by not having Bootcamp ready for Windows 7 yet Have not tried NAIPS though. |
If that's the case unhinged, I'd say that NAIPS is 32 bit. Windoze 7 and Snow Leopard are 64 bit.
