Chief Pilot in NT
Small NT based charter company operating single and multi-engine fixed wing aircraft requires suitably qualified individual to fill the Chief Pilot role.
The minimum requirements of 1000hrs total and 200 multi engine command apply. Applicants with training background or with previous Chief Pilot experience will be viewed favourably. A generous salary package will be offered to the right individual. Anyone know the operator? Kakadu Bob? Gumbys? |
You'd have to wonder about an outfit that doesn't have a proper email address but only a Hotmail one. Must be run by tight rrrrr'sss

AAA Charter?
|
AAA don't have twins i thought
|
Pick up the phone and ask dude.

Awesome post there Interceptor, didn't realise the Advert had a phone number...
|
Any company that advertises for a position such as that to be filled without divulging either its name or even the aircraft types/endorsements involved is bound to be a horses RRR's of an operation that no-one in their sane mind would apply to, especially for a CP position.
What is wrong with putting some info out there so that a better informed candidate might actually apply or have many of the NT companies gone back to the hostile way it was a few years ago? Regards, OpsN.;) |
Further Thoughts
A little research shows that Gumbys do not seem to have a webpage or email. So possibly them.:)

What is wrong with putting some info out there so that a better informed candidate might actually apply or have many of the NT companies gone back to the hostile way it was a few years ago? When you DO put your company name and number in there the phone DOES NOT STOP RINGING for weeks. It would seem that EVERYONE that rings is the most qualified and the best man for the job and that by speaking to the CFI / CP themselves they are assured the job. The CP has better things to do than suss out tyre kickers. It's not always best, trust me! |

Quote: What is wrong with putting some info out there so that a better informed candidate might actually apply or have many of the NT companies gone back to the hostile way it was a few years ago? Ummmm..... everything is wrong with this approach on occasion. I'll put it out there again, and perhaps make it a little easier to understand XXX, that a CP of a charter operation is usually required by CASA to show exposure/endorsement and competence in the largest (or most complex) machine that the company operates, hence the info for the candidate so that they may well decide if (for whatever reason they are not endorsed or do not wish to be) on a certain type they might well have the opportunity to decide that for themselves. There are other issues as well, where the position will be based, the reputation of the company in the industry etc. These all effect the calibre of the candidate you'll find applying for the position. IMHO in this instance the company in the advertisement has severely limited its applicants by the omission of relevant information. Over to you XXX. |
Think a bit broader guys. The companies you have mentioned, Kakair, Gumby's only have 1 twin. AAA air charter don't have any. The requirments stated are for a company with more than 1 multi engine aircraft.

Good call OpsNormal and it would seem you have the experience to back up your comments. Perhaps the issue lies with the adverts themselves, making them non-specific invites calls, emails and applications from every man and his CPL.
|
As previously stated, the company would have started that email specifically for cv's for the advertised job, in order to not clog up the company inbox. Also the company may like to remain descreet about it, so that busy bodies on this site with nothing better to do won't start rumours about the company and why they are looking for a new cp.....

Well pay you a fair wage for your job description. But screw over the lines pilots and their t & c's down and we'll give a generous portion of what you save us. Maybe. |
Katherine Aviation? |
Wouldn't Katherine Aviation have a "Contractor" Chief Pilot like most/all of their other staff?
Who are the (underpaid) losers?! |
could be Kathrine Aviation, the refueller in BRL told the refueller in Brm that the Katharine aviation CP is moving to darwin in a month or so
