Does anyone know if Hevilift PNG fixed wing is still operating, and what is the most effective way of gaining employment as a fixed wing Pilot in PNG.

If you Google "hevilift png", one of the hits you'll get is this one :-

Regional Aviation Group

Just follow the "Employment" link at the top of the page. :ok:

Hevilift Mil8

Definitely Mil-8 (Mi17-1 - sem-sem helikopta). Hevilift operate two of them, and at the moment I think they are both operating on the PK register based in Timika (Freeport).
I know they have been trying to get them on the P2 register (were being operated on a Foreign AOC in PNG), but PNG CAA have been stuffing them around.

PNG CAA have been stuffing them around.
NO!

I think you will find the particular aircraft do not comply with PNG (or ICAO) Airworthiness criterior.

There is a well know and oft reported corrupt background to attempts to get these aircraft onto the PNG Register. := The National and Post Courier newspaper websites have the stories if you are prepared to look. :ooh:
