What's going on at Chartair?

As the thread title says...

... Advertising on AFAP today for a Check & Training person... Yet again... I think this is the third time! Are they hiring people only to have them leave, or are they not getting anyone at all? Hard to believe in the current economic situation...

Very quiet by the looks of things... C208 was parked for a long time then disappeared last weekend... Sent to Alice perhaps? How are things down south? Can't be worse than Darwin...

darwinils 14th Feb 2009 06:30

Anything, anyone? Surely there is something happening...

The Wawa Zone 15th Feb 2009 02:58

Something ? Well not a lot; they are probably just plodding along like an old horse they same way they have for years. About as exciting as watching afternoon tea at the old folks home.

Which is good; no dramas, lots of aircraft including C402 and PA31, and some remote (?) bases, which means its a good place to fly. (Unlike other places which are always in the news.)

Regards, The Zone.

Probably just a thing called progression. It does happen, people are allowed to do it last time I checked.

May I suggest rather than post threads where by you are trying to defame the company, maybe take a look at where in the aviation world they sit - ie. It's not at the top, so people can progress from there. Hence, when people progress, then others need to progress into that position, :ok:.

Rumour has it the C&T is still there, CASA complication etc etc led to them seeing if they could find someone with C&T exp, if not, they'll sort it out.

Again, just rumour.

cjam 15th Feb 2009 09:09

"find someone with C&T exp, if not, they'll sort it out"

If that is true it shows how pathetic CASA are. CASA obviously know that the problem can be fixed but get a small business who are working their way through a recession to try to employ someone else, and only if they can't they'll fix the problem??? Surely this rumour is untrue.

Sorry cjam perhaps a bit of a loose term 'sort it out'. Meaning they'll make sure he gets the exp necessary. Confirmed by a chartair employee.

The Mentalist 14th May 2009 23:57

Anything much happening since Feb. Heard the other day from a mate up in Dwn that not much flying is happening, also seems there are a couple of Conquests parked near there with Vincents marking on the sides? Hmm!

Update

6 pilots left in Darwin, down to about the same number of planes. not much work going on. One conquest in Alice other one in Cairns with another operator. 404 gone to AV8. plus the wheels up the other week.

Has anyone in Darwin noticed the advertising on the radio and ch7 the last few months? Reminisent of AusJet Darwin the last few months before they folded camp. Food for thought!

the air up there 28th Sep 2009 00:45

It has been noticed, and very concerning. Maybe that building is bad luck. How many operators have been and gone from there now??

AussieNick 28th Sep 2009 02:51

I think the whole 6 pilots left and that many aircraft is a bit of exaggeration?

that been said, Haunted corner is called that for a reason...

Dunnza 28th Sep 2009 04:58

Heard they were losing contracts hard and fast?
