Any info on a AirNZ AKL-ADL turnback this morning?

Anyone with info on a turnback by an AirNZ (presumably A320) aircraft this morning?

Mum was on board, she said something about compression problems, but knowing Mum like I do that could mean anything. Apparantly happened about 30mins out of AKL and spent 2hrs flying around before landing.

Passengers re-booked via Sydney.

Cheers

My mum was on it too. Apparently it was a problem with the number 2 thronomister.

One of the crew left the iron on at home

Maybe it was Phoebe's "left falangie"?? I agree with Rachel...I wouldn't fly without it being serviceable!!

Pilotette 19th Nov 2008 19:37

Are you kidding? I would definitely not fly without a left falangie!! Classic :ok:

OK, so where is the news reporting?'Air NZ aircraft returns to airport after midair emergency, passengers are shaken after near death experience'!

But it wasn't Qantas so it is not news worthy.

I hear it was the left falangie which lead to a catastrophic failure (see Q300 thread) of the downstream foo-foo valve. Mums ****ting themselves left right and centre.:}

:cool:My mum stayed as cooool as a cucumber, hardly looked up from her knitting.:cool:

Squawk....hope you weren't actually looking for a SERIOUS answer, 'cos this thread has definitely shot off on an entirely different tangent!!

My mum was keen to get some knitting done, but those potlickers in security wouldn't let her on with the half finished cardie and the weapons she was using to make it.

Nike, next time your mum is traveling PM me and I'll get her needles on. My second cousin is a cleaner in AA, he never has to go through security so we just get him to leave a set in the loo. Sweet as.:ok:
