Bn Cen Around Cs 6/11 Around 6pm

To the BN CEN Controller who had what it seemed a massive chunk of airspace and some very interesting and somewhat difficult operators to deal with, from someone who was on freq but well removed from the aciton, I would just like to say job well done.

And to the bloke who didn't bring all of his approach plates, that'll learn ya!!! :mad:

Anybody else around at that time and hear the guy?

Jamair 7th Nov 2008 10:13

Yair....the "...jeez, fair dinkum!!!" he came out with was a LOT more restained than what I was saying to myself listening in.:}

It wasn't a Baron, was it? :ooh:

I was on frequency at the time as well and also say well done the the guy at BNE CTR. It all was happening lots of aircraft coming into Cairns from the nth. Good job getting those guys to upgrade to IFR even the guy who was missing an approach plate or 2!
I think at one stage he said something like " you've gotta be joking would you like to continue the orbit or track to Cairns?!" when pilot commented on his orbit being cut short!:ok:

neville_nobody 8th Nov 2008 08:52

Yeah the pilot said that he couldn't exit a hold because he was half way through it :confused:

I sure hope those guys are not professional pilots, it was probably the worst piece of airmanship I have ever heard of. Don't think I will hear that many 'you're joking' or 'fair dinkums' on the radio again by a controller in my life time :}

Gday,

Was also on frequency at the time and was quite a busy evening, and it wasn't just that one guy, the controller had trouble getting many aircraft to listen to him and had to repeat him himself a fair bit.

and the guy that was in the hold? :ugh:I think the use of the words jeez and fair dinkum was quite restrained too!

Good job to the controller, I hear him on regularly and does a good job

Yes also on frequency and have to say well done to both the controller and the pilot who admitted to not having the approach plate. Better than continuing into the never never and having a CFIT. I am sure he will come better prepared next time. Good job by all!

so you will take a full set pf Jepps next time will ya drugs detected? :}
