Canterbury Aero Club
 

I'm going to be in NZ in Dec 08 and was looking to do some dual fixed wing flying (I've got a valid JAR PPL licence) from Christchurch. I've emailed and called Canterbury Aero Club but had no repsonse to my email from a few weeks ago and can only get a voice message when I call (during NZ working hours!).

Could someone advise whether they are still operational and/or point me towards another school/club in the area.

Well, they're definitely still operational. Can't give you any suggestions beyond what you've already tried though, I'm sure if you keep calling you will probably get them eventually.

Do you only want to fly around Christchurch? You could try Wakatipu Aero Club out of Queenstown since you will be in that part of the world, not too far from Christchurch for some Mountain time. Really beautiful part of the country.
