Kyeema Memorial

For all you interested Melbournians, tomorrow (Sat 25th) will mark the 70th anniversary of terrible crash that killed many people on DC2 (Kyeema) flight from Adelaide to Melbourne in 1938.

A memorial is being held at the crash site in Mt Dandenong at 12 Midday which will include fly overs by some DC3's.

For those of you who have nothing on take a nice drive up to the Dandenong's to pay your respect to all that lost their lives.

Presentation by renowned Author and Pilot, Macarthur Job.

Thanks.

Mac is a fantastic bloke and a real legend in Australian aviation, for which he has a passion. I think he is over 80 now.
Go along and give him some support (and watch a couple of DC3's too!)

Also of interest is the 60th aniversary (8th Nov 1948) approaching for the Ill fated DC3 "Kurana" which ploughed into the sth western slopes of Mt Macedon during lousy wx (not far from Capt Wally's place:)) 2 lost their lives out of 17 on board. There is a small plaque saying as much as well as other pictorial displays of that flight up there on the Mount. Access from the carpark at walk to the memorial cross.
Early navigation was at best risky, we pilots of today fly with the assistance of the past fallen.
