possibly moving to australia

hiya, I could very possibly be moving to Australia, maybe Brisbane, but nothing is confirmed yet.
At the minute i work for Servisair as a pax service agent/ gate cordinator. i generally start boarding flights before the checkin agents get to the gate, deal with baggage ID, and any other problems that may occure while boarding flights.
I sometimes also check pax in, and meet inbound A/C and present pax to immigration/ passport control. I really enjoy my job in avaiation, and really dont want to move into any other field. I am also doing an NVQ in avaiation, and handling pax on the ground.
i was wondering if someone could give me any email; adresses or websites for handling agents in and around australia, or if not handling agents then directly for airlines who may possibly be willing to take me on.

Thanks, any help is much appreciated
jen

What's an NVQ?

I'm sure that you'll find work but I'm the wrong person to be giving that advice. If you don't have any answers in a few days PM me and I'll see if I can find a rampie or someone else who can give you some info.

NVQ = National Vocational Qualification, sort of like the apprenticeship system in OZ and NZ, with your employment + various corses + assesment giving you a nationally recognised qualification which shows you have achieved a certain level of competence in you chosen field. You can complete it in all sorts of things, but only relevant over here in the UK:ok:

Believe it or not, quite a few employers don't mind these kind of qualifications now that the internal pre-testing is better than a piece of paper that shows your intellectual potential at the average age of seventeen.

Sorry off topic but just curious if your location LPL is Liverpool John Lennon Airport?

Are you from Liverpool?

Hi Jen,

There certainly jobs/work around with your qualifications. It maybe only casual or even part time, but at least its a "foot in the door" The only question i have is what type of visa will you be on? Some places will only hire you if you have PR, but do not put you off!

regards
TOJP.
