Ah you can't blame the media for everything wrongly reported, afterall they are in an industry that has a lot of "jack of all trades master of none". The thing that gets me though is there is so much info about aviation & other sectors of business that's freely available on the Net. Reporting anything that's grossly incorrect ought not to happen. Ch 10 showing a B737 is just 'plane' poor journalism 'cause type in A380 into Google & what do you get? A mountain of info on the exact plane, not a B737!:ugh:
Anyway won't be long before the A380 is just another plane in the sky, what's next for the media to stuff up?

Where's the 'Dugong' these days?

Where's the 'Dugong' these days?
If CASA were to view the 80 odd hold items I don't think it will be flying anywhere for a while.:uhoh:

80 hold items? Surely Robbo could fix that on his own. Being the guru that he is

ampclamp 5th Oct 2008 12:01

80 holds!

only 80 :ooh: crikey wait till they let loose the slf and bugger up all that lovely PES/IFE. They'll be wishing they had 10 'fart' crews with a few of these in service.

A380 in Perth

Brilliantly covered here in this article:
Qantas A380 superjumbo arrives in Perth

You'd think they could at least get Nancy's name right!!!

It was named Nancy Bird-Wilson after the pioneering Australian aviatrix.

Looked great flying down the river to Freo and back. Still the ugliest thing that ever flew though...

Green gorilla 14th Oct 2008 05:41

The wing is nice the fuz has a little to be desired.

Rich Pitch Power 14th Oct 2008 05:47

I'm with Capn Bloggs, it looks like a double decker 767. If they make them a bit longer I guess it will look more appealing.

Seems the old girl has some agenda behind moving the hyphen, but I'm damned if I know what it is.
Wikipedia, of course, explains all. Think it was her late husband's pet name for her. Hyphens in names are so old-fashioned.

Also why are female pilots called 'Pilots" these days, but OLD female pilots have to be called "Aviatrix," by the Media. Why not just Aviators. Since when did gender become an issue in the ability to fly an airplane.
For the same reason female Actors are called Actrix :suspect:

esreverlluf 14th Oct 2008 21:37

I have always been amazed at how female actors don't want to be called actresses anymore . . . . . until it comes time for the "Best Actress" award at the Oscars!:O That, apparently, is different.
