Flying Opportunities
 

Would like to get your opinion on low time pilots and opportunities.

Do you think you would be better off in a GA company (ie charter into remote strips, freight etc) in the right seat learning from an experienced Captain?

Or

Banging around doing aerial surveying, mustering, parachuting etc?

What do you think would be the advantages and disadvantages to both?

I dont know "exactly" what your trying to say........but I have that exact opportunity.

Plus correct me if I am wrong, I had heard of a Perth company doing it using Brasilia's? maybe

People that start their whole career in the RHS at flight levels never know what fun they missed out on. :ok:

There is little training that can beat being out in the middle of nowhere having to make ALL the decisions yourself.

You'd be better off in a GA Charter company sitting in the LEFT seat learning things yourself.

Please for your own sake, don't take a job that is a 'co-pilot' job in a piston twin, :confused:.

It was more to do with getting your TT up more so that they could then throw you into the left seat of a twin piston by yourself. On the job training as it were.

as ive said before, if you can get in as a qf cadet take it. If not then yeah go bush. But by all means dont make it harder than it has to be!

I vote for going bush. in the LHS that is off a single and move onto a twin.

like someone said before, thats were you will learn to make dececions on your own. no one next to you to talk to. (wel changes are that they no very lil off aviation lol but like in the NT probleby have more time on like C210's than the pilots flying them)
anyway, you will have to make decisions on your own. wich can only be benificial to later if you want to go airlines.

not to mention the fun you can have. its still reall flying, often no autopilot etc.

I usually dislike the grammar cops in here however, gadude, while I agree with and eventually understood what you're saying, have a bit more respect for the people who read these pages. We're supposed to be professional.:ok:

My apologied mate for my spelling errors, but unlike most people on this forum I wasnt born with an englisch speaking mum and dad in an englisch speaking country.
and I didnt realise that we had to type perfect englisch in this forum.
I supose I could run this true the spelling chek thingy, or take englisch class lessons, but to be honest I rather not post in that case.

I know that Iam not quite barking up the same tree as you but that did actually happen to me one day at the back of the BRL pub a couple of years ago. After having hung out my underpants to dry some menace decided to steal not one pair but all four. Cheeky sod..... Maybe he thought they would look better on him than me (and not to mention it was my first wet season to, so they were being changed reguarly). Moral of the story let your underpants dry in your room and not outside for the locals to see. Off the subject I know but it was funny at the time. And as for going bush, do it while you can it will pay dividends in the long run. Good luck :ok:
