How is the International Aviation Academy of Christchurch??

Could ne1 provide their valuable opinion about International Aviation Academy of Christchurch

Not the absolute best school, but in my experience one of the better ones. Graduates from here are looked upon favourably by airlines.

There is a selection process, so you'd be best to tidy the grammar a touch. :ouch:

How old is the fleet?

Well how old is the fleet? Are the instructers? Are the aircraft in good condition? Is it over crowded?

alexthepilot 2nd Jul 2008 09:41

I did my PPL and some twin hours building at the CAC, although i did not attend the school as a fulltime student. Very proffessional I always found it a delight with some of the nicest people ive met there, aeroplanes are in great conditions and highly maintained with their in-house engineering facilities. :ok:

Old busted Tomahawks, large training delays, but otherwise pretty good. Instructors have a very professional attitude and the training is of good quality.

4 years ago the place was a bit of a nightmare. i drank my way through and still managed to pass just fine though. couple of c-cats who are big headed, im sure most of them would have moved on by now though... they seemed to think the world owed them some sort of favor. i remember many an afternoon watching the instructor stare out the window at the jets for long periods of time because they couldnt be stuffed teaching anything. there certainly was an "in club".
used to be huge issues in the training department but she got fired. ahaha. oh deary. anywho the fleet wasnt that amazing but all in all its a pretty good place. wouldnt wanna work there though!:ugh:

Ahhh -CUA that brings back memories... so are CB and JP still running the joint after many many years at the helm?

The place was never the same after moving to the other side of the runway.
