A big thumbs up for ATC!

I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the thorough gentleman who was working BN frequencies 127.1, 133.05 and many others just before they became TIBA airspace last night. You went out of your way to ensure that I thoroughly understood the procedures for my return leg and provided me with all the necessary frequencies that I would need.

While TIBA can sometimes be inconvenient you made my job of navigating the airspace (or lack of) as easy as possible and for that I thank you!

Cheers, HH.:ok:

PS: Does anyone have an email contact for the supervisor at BN that they can PM me, so I can email an official thank you?

Whilst on the subject , friday the 20th June early evening , Perth Approach took everyone off the STAR and vectored them onto the 03 ILS.... making "that" turn(on the pinja 5) and intercept easy. I know I appreciated it and one jet did comment to you also ... thank you.:ok:

HH - sorry to pinch you're thread.

It says alot that in Melbourne now, if an adjoining sector is going TIBA, your supervisor gives you a lamintated page with instructions for us and pilots, with all the blank fields filled out in pen

Glad to hear you're happy with their service though....

I overheard said ATCO telling an AIr Ambulance that there'd not be any control after x time. He could not have been more helpful or empathetic. :D:D:D

I know I should look it up but can someone please interpret TIBA for me?

Generally have to agree with HH that ATC do a great job given the limitations that they have to operate with (including some who call themselves professional pilots).:ok:

I too would like to know more about TIBA from the Commercial pilots out there that get exposed to it

Howard,

If no one PMs you, the contact number for BN Centre is 07-38663429. Just speak to the Supervisor, advise your appreciation and ask for the required email address so you can put it in writing.

Regards,

JT

Traffic Information Broadcast by Aircraft  it's a sad state of affairs when that's happening

We thank you for your support HH. However, this is the spin we are faced with at the moment:

Planes off the radar as air traffic controllers take sickies | The Daily Telegraph

If you have enjoyed our service, would you be so kind as to leave a comment pertaining to that. We would appreciate it. Comments from professional pilots like yourself (and others here please) would help Joe Public appreciate the work we do.

Our employer seems to think there are organised sickies going on, rather than it being winter and people are run down with massive amounts of overtime being performed. And then they come out with this - no wonder people are choosing to use their off days to relax and see their families!

Sayonara,

Showa Cho.
