Darwin

Operator that started up in Darwin in the last month has just let its pilots go
apparently AOC issues

tinpis 4th Jun 2008 10:08

What sort of moth was he using? :hmm:

Urshtnme 4th Jun 2008 10:11

Got any more info or verification on this?

Stormynights 4th Jun 2008 10:12

I know two of the pilots

Flying Binghi 4th Jun 2008 10:51

What is it about Darwin ?

The place would have to score the pprune record for most mentioned city.

Talking of records, does Darwin still hold the world record for highest volume of booze consumed per person ?

Stormynights 4th Jun 2008 10:55

Wasnt necessarily Darwin
was the particular operator
has been mentioned alot on here b4

A certain job advertised for chieftan drivers

and yes the beer tastes good

Stormynights 4th Jun 2008 11:16

and yes they are pissed off
3 weeks for four hours flying and no pay

muddergoose 4th Jun 2008 11:52

It's in the NT - a big "0" - check the start of the postcode :E Has to make up for it somewhere :}

Come with 0 to fill the logbook to be dumped and leave with 0 - seems to be happening alot in the NT at the moment.

What an introduction for those two - hope they stick at it and ignore the more colourful eggs in Darwin. Plenty more deserving fish (companies) in the sea for them.

No, but close... That would be Gove/Nhulunbuy.. :ok:

The Voice 4th Jun 2008 22:25

Darwin is clearly out shone by the locals club at Nguiu - sells more kegs in 6 x 3hr trading days/week than a certain Irish pub in Mitchell St trading all day and half the night 7 days/week!

tinpis 4th Jun 2008 22:52

the locals club at Nguiu
Luckily separated from Darwhine by a bloody great big ditch :hmm:

Building a moat around Mitchell St would have some merit as well.
Gallop the crocs around in it from the new croc voyeur attraction

man PPRune is awesome, off track after only 9 posts :ok:

Flying Binghi 5th Jun 2008 03:46

Speaking of going off track...

When I lived in Darwin, many moons ago, driving south was called 'going down the track' That still the case ?

Nah .....
"Going south" or "visiting the Mexicans"

Socket 5th Jun 2008 08:54

Speaking of going south, is that what "sounds like honey" is doing to another company. Remember Nkg.

Stationair8 5th Jun 2008 09:18

Hope said individual is better person in his CP role than his display and attitude at a Casuarina crawl a few years back!

It is an amazing thing ;) But what more can be said - no AOC, no jobs... BUYER BEWARE ... All the Darwin newbies have now been advised to watch out for the fly-by-night operators with a bee thing happening (Referring to honey thing)

It is time to :) and move on...

But if another company is now susceptible to AOC issues then . . . . Nice to know before someone takes the plunge in Darwin.

Stationair 8 you mean to say there is good behaviour at the Crawl

Stationair8 5th Jun 2008 10:54

Said person become a nasty obnoxious drunk with a chip on his shoulder who wanted to fight anyone and everyone until he passed out.

Stationair8, that describes most fellows in Darwin. you'll probably need to be more specific ;)

(Edit - this was a poorly worded joke :) )

Pinky the pilot 5th Jun 2008 11:05

I lived in Darwin from May 79 to December 81 and I was'nt involved in the Aviation scene then, but it's interesting to know that nothing has changed!:*
