Gawd.... nothing there that would make me choose to fly on one.

Just another cattle truck.

WannaBeBiggles 12th May 2008 20:27

I think Marc Newson needs to be shot for even suggesting those colors and layout! :yuk:

Even business class doesn't seem to have as much elbow room as some other airlines on traditional wide bodies...

Will be interesting to see one in real life and see what the seat pitches are like.

Daffyd Thomas 12th May 2008 21:03

Shocker.

Absolute shocker.

Jail looks better than that. It encourages airsickness before its left the ground.

:(

lowerlobe 12th May 2008 21:11

It might be the photographs but from these pics it could be summed up with one word....'Bland'

blackguard 12th May 2008 22:16

Right Decision

I have definitley made the right decision not to fly on Le Croissant now that I have seen this.
The green looks more like mould.
Dont know why this clown Newson is famous. Most of the stuff he has done for QF has been flawed rubbish

Buster Hyman 12th May 2008 22:28

My personal favourite...the self service bar for EYCL PAX!!!:ugh::ugh::ugh:

Either, they've set up cameras so they can enter funniest home videos & subsidise the fleet, or Lowerlobe made this suggestion to management to get...err...more lowerlobe time....

lowerlobe 12th May 2008 22:38

Buster...I know I have a good sense of humour but nothing like this...

Well...SIA & Emirates will be breathing a sigh of relief won't they?

Here was a chance for the company to come out with a brilliant interior and make the most of a brand new aircraft.....and what did they come up with?

They coined the name Longreach for the 400 .....So....

How about Nullabor for the flying croissant...Big...Endless...Bland....Monotonous...

DEFCON4 12th May 2008 22:46

Comparison

Looks more like the interior of a '60s Chinese Restaurant.
Quelle Horreur!!!

Qantas Airbus A380

Everything we have come to expect from QF management. First Class looks about as comfortable as the current P/C cabin on 744, or a backpackers dormitory. Cramped and crowded, again. The decorator, like the cook, is a dud.

Whenever the opportunity to do something extraordinary arises, management stay true to form. Unimaginative.

lowerlobe 12th May 2008 23:14

Just realised there is nothing to worry about at all....

This is some sort of late April fools day joke.

These pics are of the Jetstar A-380 interior.....

Apparently a certain Irish chap who has something to do with Jetstar picked out the seat colour for Y/C....Irish Green!!!!!!

Tempo 12th May 2008 23:31

Jeeze....lucky you guys got in quick....can't miss an opportunity to bag Qantas can we. Do you really think pax give a rats what colour the seats are when choosing an airline to fly economy with?????

lowerlobe 12th May 2008 23:51

o you really think pax give a rats what colour the seats are when choosing an airline to fly economy with?????
...In a word tempo..YES

Secondly,it's just not the Y/C seats that look bland.

Have you seen the SIA interior pics?

flying-spike 13th May 2008 00:28

Spew!

Don't bother painting the outside of the aircraft, leave it like it is and it will reflect what the inside looks like. Bland, stark and uninspiring. If the old adage "if it looks good it will fly good" is correct then this thing will be a handfull! As for 1st class, they look like office cubicles. But what should we expect , its a flying Citroen after all.

r3please 13th May 2008 00:34

Just horrible...

Thats is so fugly...another bad decision by QF managers.

Compare with Virgin Atlantic...albeit another few years away!

Capt Wally 13th May 2008 00:48

you bunch of gooses:E that's not the new interior of a QF plane that's the ARMY's new transport. The photographer was told to go down to the airport & get some piccy's of QF's new interior, he did just that but the only problem was that the QF plane was still being fitted out with an even more attractive colour scheme (if that's possible) so he just happened to see an ARMY plane right beside it. And seeing as our esteemed journo's know there stuff on aviation:yuk: he took a piccy or two of what yr seeing now!:bored: Makes no difference anyway, it's all about cost & who in their right mind would paint/trim anything chuck green other than some backyard camo to hide the neighbours! At least the puke will blend in !:yuk::yuk:

Australia's fav airline, hmmmm for what?:bored:

speedbirdhouse 13th May 2008 00:58

Was it ever going to be any other way????

Luxurious, sumptuous, rich, cutting edge, ground breaking ? Well it's clearly none of those.

I know what it is.

****e.

Qantas, a great airline run by idiots.

Buster Hyman 13th May 2008 01:00

Ahh...no, it's the boarding lounge at Avalon! Phew...for a minute there....

flying-spike 13th May 2008 01:14

Eh hang on!

The barstools lied! Wheres the bloody pool table, spa and bowling ally. We was robbed!

Dogimed 13th May 2008 01:17

And quoted from the A380 initial release media.

The aircraft will also have a variety of luxury features ranging from recreational multi-purpose facilities (like casino, gym fittness center, a fast-food franchise, duty-free shop, library, club-style bar, conference meeting room) to personal care amenities (stateroom with luxurious beds, shower, spa). You name it. However, these are just tentative features. It’s likely that each plane will have its own unique combination of services. To fit all these into one single airplane is undoubtedly a huge challenge. We’ll see what happens when its first commercial service is scheduled sometime this year

lowerlobe 13th May 2008 01:19

Not to mention the all important Crew tennis court for the Cabin Crew vs Tech Crew Open!!!!!

A pool would have been nice as well.....

I could imagine the comments from the Airbus interior design team when told of QF's decisions.

Merde.......

Perhaps the person who picked the colours is colour blind...or they are trying to make people think it is a green airline...:hmm:
