I,m going to buy a headset for my job in ATR airplane in a regional airline. I have a doubt between two models.

Just go the ANR DC's. Forget the rest.

Not if you want to interface them with a satphone or get good quality ANR. We have 5 sets of them and they are all giving trouble on both counts. The Bose we have is far better

In the tradition of PPRuNe, I havent actually used either DC or Bose equipment at all, but I've seen both of them.

This qualifies me to state with conviction that one must be better than the other.

Try the Lightspeed Zulu before buying either - cannot beat it.

^ i second the zulu's the bose dont even fit my i think normal ears

I think that Zulu headset is a copy of bose X, and zulu is made in China so in my opinion I think bose are better.

Risking How to suck eggs - 101 did you have the Bose on the correct way? The ear muffs are designated L and R.

My Bose X is an excellent headset and by far the most comfortable I've ever worn. (DC/Senheiser/Telex/Bose/Plantronics)

I agree with Capt Claret my Bose X is the most comfortable ever, on the downside one of the plastic pieces has broken and has been returned to the factory. I wore my DC's for 21 years only ever replacing the microphone, they are stil going great 23 years on!:eek:

Bose does not become the largest speaker manufacturer in the world by chance. They are the same as McDonalds. The Big Mac is not one of the worlds best known fast foods because it is good for you or very healthy, it is pure MARKETING!

Bose is a sensational marketing company that happen to sell speakers etc.

Thats the anti corporate propaganda, now for the facts.

All Bose speakers, including those used in the famous headset are made from untreated paper and have foam surrounds.

For conditions in Australia which are hot (by world standards) and sometimes humid these components do not work well in a headset. Also when used in an aircraft, the hunidity inside the headset when used covering the ears is normally in the order of 100%.

The untreaded paper speakers become mouldy and rot and the foam surrounds start to break apart.

The product will last for the warrenty period then die some time afterward and you paid how much for them!

It is the same for their home speaker systems as well.

If anyone buys into BOSE marketing - you have been told!
