To stay in NZ or go to QF Link ??

OK here goes.. I am living in NZ and have recently been offered an interview and sim ride for the QF link trainee programme, problem is im not sure whether to take the opportunity or hang on here for Eag or Air Nsn being as i have all NZ ATPLs now. Any thoughts or advice welcome.

By the way have looked at other posts for info but if anyone has any interview tips or recent questions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

If you can get yourself to AU then go. A LOT more opportunity their and I've always learnt to take my opportunity's as they present themselves.

If you are a fresh CPL you will not get into Eagle for at least another 500-1000 hrs with multi time also. You are not going to get that sort of job in NZ now.

Flipside, QF, twin time, few years from now you'll be in a jet. If you don't get into QF still go to AU and get a single job in a company that has twins. You will be on twins in 6 mths and jets in a few years again.

Coming from a Kiwi who has done it.

Good luck

If you do the QLink interview and they offer you the position you can make a decision whether to go or not.

But, funnily enough, if you don't do the interview you won't have that option.

Given that you're up for the traineeship program then it sounds as if your TT is not up to the Eagle or Nelson mins, which is probably around a thousand hours, give or take, with some handy multi in there as well. But I could be wrong...? Depending on your situation the traineeship could be a great opportunity.

Flying out of SYD and MEL is great fun!

PM me if you have any specific questions.

Do it. It's the best job on offer to you now.

Aus and NZ are essentially a common market, Kiwi pilots fly for every airline in Aus and Aussie pilots work for... well... Pac Blue and JetConnect.... while copping stick for being an Aussie even when flying a plane with a roo on the tail. Some Dash time in Aus will only help your prospects back home should you decide to return. I note, however, few do.

Join the 40000 other kiwis heading over each year...... The money, girls and weather are all better and if its Q/Link then (i assume) you will have cheap travel back to NZ anyway.
Didnt have the same chance you do but wish I had. :ok:
