bright light over cairns

G'day all,

was just out on the driveway and noticed a bright light in the sky moving very rapidly from SSE to the NNW. Seemed to be flickering like a flame, could not hear any sound emanating from it, and it lasted almost from horizon to horizon.

Just wondering if anyone else saw it and could explain what it was. My guess would be a satellite or piece of space junk re-entering the atmosphere.

Cheers

i was thinking it could be a dump&burn (are they paying for carbon credits?). but then you said there was no sound.

It could have been anything reentering, we once sat on a beach at straddie and saw something like that, it lit the beach like a spotlight.

Well, it is around Easter... something of biblical proportions possibly?

yeah, the easter bunny calculated his reentry wrong..
Sorry kids, Easter eggs tomorrow are a NO GO!
