Ferry Oregon-Europe

In May I will ferry a light aircraft from Medford, Oregon to Europe, all depending on fair weather of course. First stop is planned in Winnipeg or the Grand Forks, ND area. After that itīs Goose Bay and across the Atlantic.

Anybody out there with some good advice for the first stop as far as cheap 100LL fuel, good FBO, loose women:}:} and a decent place to stay in the general area between Winnipeg and Grand Forks ??

Also, in general, in which country is 100LL the cheapest, Canada or US ??

You could try the North America forum for this...

Yep, I agree with the other obvious insomniac. Lasior is right, scoot this over to the North American forum.

I might also suggest that you study a map of the globe, when you're planning a trip half way around the world its best to know the difference between Australia and America!:}:E:ok:

Cheers and best of luck with the flight!:)

Moving over

Okay, thanks, I just started the same thread on the NA-forum.

Nice night last night, wasn't it, ABX?

Perhaps PH-SCP was planning on flying all the way to Austria?

PH-SCP 6th Feb 2008 13:32

The final destination is Maastricht (MST/EHBK) in the Netherlands.

Lasior, I see that you are up and at it late at night once again. Are you doing night shift? Study? Insomniac? Me, I am studying, although the missus will disagree if she sees me surfing proon!

PH-SCP, You are planning quite a long flight there, exactly which "light aircraft" will you be ferrying?

Did you get any sensible answers in the NA forum? (You certainly lucked out in D&G mate!)

ABX:ok:

Not much response yet on the NA-forum, then again, a ferry pilot is really on his own. The plane is a F.8L Falco

Thanks for the response:D

Ah, I just did a quick google of it. Sure looks like a slippery little aircraft. Retractable, light weight, should get along alright, although the weight of fuel might slow her down a little at first.

Are you a ferry pilot by profession or is this a one off job?

PH-SCP 6th Feb 2008 18:58

I do other stuff in aviation for a living but I've done a fair number of ferryflights also. Scares the cr*p out of my wife and kids each time I "announce" another trip.:}:}
