Lighting req's

G'day all

I have been trying to locate some info within the AIP.

Where does it say how long runway lighting should remain on during night operations?

Thanks

have a lookd at MOS 139, Chap 9, para 9.3.1.4, 9.3.1.5, 9.3.1.6

Basically the minimum is 30 minutes with 10 minute warning from IWDI flashing for last 10 minutes. Can be set to longer periods depending on operational conditions at the airfield.

Electric lights need only be on for 30 mins prior to arrival until completion of ldg and taxiing. Suggests if PAPI in use, lights should be activated 10 mins prior to arrival to burn off condensation so as to not give false information.

As far as alternate is concerned, if served by PAL, then a responsible person is needed in attendance. That's about as far as it goes with regard to alternate, they do not need to be on for any (specified) period of time.

Good luck with your interview.:)
