Flying Cessna Ciatation with 500hrs Total Time

Hi there every1 i was wondering if some1 can help me out
Now i have 5oohrs Total Time with Multi-Engine IFR and an Australian CPL
and this company i am interested in applying for, there minimum requirements are a 1000hrs total time but after chattin to them they said to sent in my cv and said that maybe we can help you, now as you can see i am very confused in how they can help me or what i am thinking is that they might ring there insurance company and get me to pay for the insurance difference.

Any suggestions please.

Offer to pay for 500 hours ICUS or F/O time and you should get a look in.

Wing Root 18th Dec 2007 03:21

Can't wait for this one.... Bring it on!

:D

morno 18th Dec 2007 04:07

Where's that popcorn eating icon when ya need it, :}.

Jazzy, offer to pay each time you sit in the seat and you'll be fine, ;)

Much Ado 18th Dec 2007 04:22

That will be enough of that me thinks.

In the current employment climate who is to say 500 hrs is not plenty of time for an FO job on what, lets face it, is only barely a jet.

jazzy asked a reasonable question...lets check the boggy baiting at the door.

"Flying Cessna Ciatation with 500hrs Total Time"

I assume the Ciatation is one of the Cessna Citation family, though I can't say I have heard of it.

With 500 hrs total time on the clock - its barely run in.

Yakka 18th Dec 2007 05:14

T I M,
It might not be acceptable to you, but then you are not the 1 offering him the job.
Ya

morno 18th Dec 2007 05:26

Ohh come on Much Ado, you seriously can't think this guy is for real? How thick would you have to be to think you've got to pay the extra insurance just so you can fly it for WORK????

Think it's best if you just delete this thread instead.

Quite possible to get a C500 FO spot with those numbers.

Especially if the skippers only want someone to worship them, not threaten their job or correct them and do the errands.:hmm:

They don't want guys with any real experience or who are able to make any real input to the operation.

Take the job and the money. Plenty have done the same before you.:ok:

troppont 18th Dec 2007 07:08

Yakka and Maiden

If I were to offer someone that job... if their cv was anything like that post. ....I WOULDNT.

Capt Wally 18th Dec 2007 08:28

...some Citations require only one pilot anyway.(like someone said there barely a jet anyway) Maybe in this case the F/O would only be there due to contractual requirements as in the customer wants/requires two pilots at the pointy end ! 500 Hrs if gained with good airmanship qualities would be ok as long as the Capt is obviously endorsed as SP & the F/O can close the cabin door ! I say go for it but I would draw the line at paying any premium for it tho ! Ah look it's a crazy workd these days anyway, once upon a time you would be lucky to fly a C210 with 500 hrs !:)

Capt Wally:-)

I may have missed something here but isn't he going to need a turbine endorsement?

tail wheel 18th Dec 2007 10:50

BGT was abolished some years ago. Turbine and pressurisation comes with the turbine aircraft endorsement.

on what, lets face it, is only barely a jet.

Re: Thanks!!

Hey every1 thanks for your input i really appreciate it and yes i have been offered the job with pay. Also have a look at the industry i mean there is already a pilot shortage out there that has started, just look at Rex cancelling flight etc and it's just gonna get worse so i don't know why some people think i'm not for real and some1 tell me then who sets these Minimum Requirements, like is the insurance companies or CASA.

Tempo 18th Dec 2007 20:32

Like..... you know.......whatever

Cheers Jam'ie (sorry.....Jazzy)

neville_nobody 18th Dec 2007 20:51

CASA set the RPT requirements 500 Multi command >5700kg etc etc

Insurance companies set most of the others and in my experience they refuse to budge. Not sure if that has change in the current climate.
