What Dictates Type Given

The original question posted was
What dictates type given?????

I think I have figured it out. VB have chosen the biggest schmucks (me included) to go on the Embraer.
That is those people who seem silly enough to pay there own way to Singa or Zurich for nine, yes that is nine weeks and then cough up 30K for the type rating aswell. With accom, flights, rating etc, that is 45k for the sheer enjoyment of flying a mere aeroplane.

And salt into the wound. Embraer threw in type ratings as a sweetner for buying 24 aircraft. So who will be getting our 30K??????

Look forward to meeting you all on the ground school. That is if I am not bankrupt first.

Sal,

I do believe you are very well misinformed!

You may try getting the facts straight first. Also, if it is such a terrible deal that only schmucks would take then why are you going to take it?

Ratter!

So Salamundi - I assume you are not taking the job so wont actually be seeing the others in Zurich or Singapore?

And who has said that they have ordered 24 aeroplanes?

salamundi 15th Nov 2007 01:12

Hey Ratter - long time......

I am happy to wear the schmuck hat. You know small sacrifice now for large gain etc.........
Just think that after all these years, the bottomless pit would have ended!!
My error indeed.

No definately not mistaken.
Rang recruitment today to clarify. PM me for the details if you wish.

Check PM's Sal

Salamundi

Could you please explain what recruiting told you about paying for the endo etc - I think that having to pay for accom in a different country and pay for endo on a lower pay is outrageous.

Tell me it is not so!!!

salamundi 15th Nov 2007 02:45

I was told that salary sacrifice over one year was approved and that salary sacrifice over two years is being discussed at the moment.
I asked "Is it pay your own way?" referring to getting there and getting home and was told.
"yes it is pay your own way but further information will be in the package we send you"

i asked when I would get the package and the response - "soon"

Sorry guys, I am just as confused as you. It took all my courage to call this morning and ask the difficult question. Don't shoot the messenger. Perhaps call them yourself and see what info you get.
I think the info is changing on a daily basis.

But that is what I was told 0915 this morning.

Salmundi

Did you get an answer on your questions yet?

What is your start date in Zurich?

A37575 12th Dec 2007 11:00

Just a guess but PIC time (on turboprops) may indicate someone with more initiative at remote airports where there is little support
The only people properly qualified to assess a pilot's psychological profile including initiative is a psychologist - not a couple of Virgin Blue management aircrew and an personnel officer, HR, or what ever is the buzz word of the day) In any case why should pilot in command time on a turbo-prop be any more an indication of a fine fellow with lots of remote airport initiative time, than a Cessna 402 pilot doing a similar job?
