Flying Schools on the Gold Coast...

I was just after some information on the flying schools on the Gold Coast.

The only one I could find online is Air Gold Coast, which seems OK, but I was wondering if there are others there and if they are any good.

Are there any other airfields aside from Coolangatta, and what are Coolangatta's landing fees like? Their website doesn't list it.

Yep, Cooly is it. I am not up to date with flying schools there. There used to be about 5.

Mason Field, aka Southport Flying Club is a private strip, no schools there. There used to be one out the back of Surfers that closed down 10 years ago.
There is a ultralight strip and some VH planes go into it at Jacobs Well to the north, worth checking out maybe on the off chance.

Re landing fees, call them or ask the flying school, they may have some deal.

Have a look at Australian Wings Academy. A magnificent facility with a state of the art simulator. They have a young but highly regarded CFI. I have had limited involvement with them but was very impressed. I havent had experience with anybody else up there so cant comment. At least stick your head in there and speak to the owner, a fella caled Phil.Good luck.
