DG certificates cactus

Has anyone had an Avcats-issued DG certificate recently?

Give us a bit more, then ...

If June is recent, then yes. Do tell of your reason for this thread.

Youve had a PPRuNE username lying dormant for over five YEARS, and this is how you bring it into the world?

Oh, and I just had a peek at my AVCATS certificate. Its still in the same condition it was when I last looked at it.

Maybe its TINTIN's last attempt to keep in the forums, with a cryptic/harmless/smoke and mirror type post with a username that he just remembered he had ages ago?

I am told that with the closure of Civil Flying School the connected AVCATS management has split and that John Orlowsky will in future be doing his own thing.

All the best intel that I have heard. It has to be confirmed.

Sorry for the vagueness of my first post. It was "moderated".
I'm told the owner of the aforementioned DG certificates training organisation has done a runner, has had CASA approval withdrawn, but is still taking money from unsuspecting students.
I was wondering if recent applicants (ie in the last month) had heard about this?

From what I have heard on the grape vine through the helicopter community, if you have done you DG Cert with AVCATS after 24 Sep 07, then it is no good (cactus)..A few pi$$sed off operators who have just sent all their pilots their to get re-current and now they have to fork out for it all again.

I would still ring CASA to confirm their approval to teach DG is still current after that date, they may have sorted it out by now for all i know..

If the above is affecting some people's Operational status, call the Civil Aviation Academy in Perth, they should be able to sort it all out in a very short time frame.
They did for me in times past.

:ok:

I tried to do it online and as of late they are not accepting anymore courses until further notice.
