Super Fund Advice needed Please

I hope to get a flying job here in WA in the coming month.
I have been o/seas a long time, and have no super at the moment.

I would appreciate any advice re choosing a super fund that anyone has, esp if they have had good or bad experiences with particular funds or with funds at particular employers here in Perth like Network, Skywest, Maroomba etc.

Also, if any members of The Aviation Industry Super Trust (TAIST) or the Aviation Employees Super Fund on these forums have any comments or suggestions that would be super (no pun intended :E) as they are the only specific "industry" related funds I could find.
Thanks in advance for any help everyone. :ok:

check out Australian Super (formerly ARF). One of the biggest non-for profit super companies. The returns are up there, actually above the major companies such as AMP,ANZ, Commonwealth etc.

If you are with the union, check out one their website (AFAP) they have a fund called aero.

BAsically the choice of super funds allows you to choose anyone you want these days

Well in Australia you are allowed to choose your own super fund now.

You are better of getting some financial advice from a professional. Unless any of the pilots on pprune have a financial background it is not worth taking anything they say as gold!

If you have a fair bit of money sitting around it might be worth setting up your own self managed super fund. Cost a bit to set it up and maintain it but the tax savings and earning potential is greater. Although as I said it isn't worth it unless you are big time super contributer. :ok:
