VH Reg LSA vs 'Normal' GA?
 

Hopefully a quick question: Is there any difference between hours logged in a VH-Reg LSA and that logged in a more conventional lightie such as a C150/172/Piper Warrior?

No mate, an hour is a well standardised unit generally made up of 60 minutes.

It is the equivalent of 1/24 of a standard day!

MARK1234, there is no difference in terms of your logbook. Only downside is that all your flying would be logged on 600kg's or less which might not look that good for a potential employer. If you're flying one (say a LSA GA Tecnam or similar) for up to PPL then you'd be laughing as you can save a dollar or 2 by not dragging around 2-3 empty seats. Once you've achieved PPL, then start flying the bigger stuff. If it's just for private use then LSA is definitely for you.

Looking at post PPL flying (nearly there I hope), more about cost effective experience, not necessarily with a view to commercial. At the moment it's a hobby, though I keep considering jumping in that direction.

One of the cao's refers but it goes some thing like "hours logged are those in any recognised aircraft." i'm pretty sure that includes gliders as well. flying is flying no matter what your in up to ppl, if you can do it for up to 1/2 the price than go for it.:}
