US type rating to be endorsed in CASA lic.

G'day.

I saw the thread before, but (even after pressing on search) I lost the track of it.

I am looking for some info. on the conversion process of A320 Type rating done in US into my CASA license.

Heard before that was easy and pretty straight forward, but at the same time should be done only by a US/Australian recognized organization. If this is the case, what are the US TRO approved by CASA ?

All information is appreciated. Thank you and regards,

WYA.

G'Day mate,
When I spoke to CASA at the beginning of the year about getting some Australian endorsements for several turboprop types I had been flying in the States they said I should bring copies of any training certificates and paperwork to show the syllabus followed as well as logbook pages showing time in the aeroplane. These aeroplanes were admittedly below 5700 kg MTOW but they said so long as the training I had received fulfilled the CASA requirements for training in a similar type here it was simply a matter of providing the paperwork, the application form, and of course the $A$130 fee.
They told me it was also the same for a type rating on a large aeroplane.
If you went somewhere like flight safety for your type rating just try to get a copy of your training records or syllabus completed and a copy of your FAA licence with the type rating on it. A copy of logbook pages with time in aeroplane would also help.

It does not matter what provider you went to to get the rating so long as the training requirements that exist here in Australia were completed over there.
As you and I both know the examinations and flight check in order to get a type rating over in the States are just as demanding if not more so than they are here in Australia.
I hope that helps a little, if you have any questions I suggest a quick phone call to Clarc and they should be able to give you precise details.:ok:

It used to be a piece of cake. Simple case of walking into your local CASA branch and the Licencing Officer would sight the material and endorse your logbook appropriately. Then some genius in CASA withdrew the Licencing Officers from the branches and all material has to be forwarded to some guru down south at a cost of $130 (as previously mentioned). It's just another way they can rip us blind with their outrageous pricing.

Incidently, is it $130 per 'sticky' or will they do a bunch of them at once for a one off cost of $130? Tipping it's the former. Those 'stickies' are expensive.

D :ugh:
