More Whiskey in the sky today.... Whats the story?

I noted in my travels today alot of "Whiskey" registered aircraft floating around the top end of QLD, and the lack of any "Alpha Tango" type of callsigns..

So much so that I think it was giving Brisbane Center a headache keeping up with the change.

Just wondering why associated "Low capacity RPT Operator" had dropped all their call signs and reverted back to using aircraft registrations?

Anyone want to enlighten the rest of the sharing caring aviation fraternity which are probably wondering whats happening?:confused:

Is this something to do with perhaps the association with Sky @ir World (I think not), or are there plans to shed the current name, along with its tainted past, and dress mutton as lamb with a new name, new face as the Airlines of the Torres Strait, or perhaps - Torres Strait Airlines?:ugh:

Keep smiling sunshiners:E

P.s. heard from a Townsville baggage handler also that the ERJ thingy went well - said airline overlooked the fact that the jet aint like the caravan with its own set of stairs - management rang the engineer first thing AM on the big day, and instructed him to make ladder thinggy welded up to look like stairs - imagine what it would have looked like, and impressed the hords of public no end.... Claytons Airline - no forsight for the simple things, how do they propose to step up to a more complex operation (ah, thats right, they dont have to - they are just the travel agent selling the seats!:ok::ok::ok:)?

Most of their aircraft are parked in the grassed area adjacent to the security shed, missing major components. Engine's etc. I'm surprised you heard any "Whiskey" aircraft at all.:}

Heard a whisper that CASA was looking into said operator at the moment. Wonder whether the callsign drop has anything to do with it.......

Who is this company?

Spinnerhead 8th Sep 2007 11:54

They had a certain association with a metro connected with Lockhart River

Read that again mate:}

I think he means the associated company...with initials like Auto Throttle perhaps:hmm:

forgetabowdit 9th Sep 2007 07:52

Oh Gee wiz I'm a nong!:rolleyes:

Jaba, give me three ways that your Auto Throttle Airlines DIRECTLY contributed to the Lockhart crash...

In fact, give me one...

Directly remember...

Was it because they insisted on a stop in at Lockhart at all... Well bugger me that a company contracting a service should have any say in the proposed schedules...

Done to death I know, but bloody hell!

Who said anywhere that AT contributed DIRECTLY to the crash? They are however liable for the consequences as they were the company retailing the tickets.

Dont shoot the messenger mate....I just thought you misread the post is all, and I am pretty sure that the other post was referring to the operator who sold the tickets, at no point did I say they caused the prang in any way at all.

For all I know they may have had some contributing effect, but I do not know how if they did......no comment from me along those lines ever.

Maybe I am over reacting ..... or are you?

Have had my fair share of opinion on this prang, never mentioned the other folk in connection to the causes.

Yeha ok, sorry, on the issue of association... Your right... Just ****s me when assumptions are made by ppl that have no interest than to ****stir... I re read what spiner head wrote and he did only say association. Back into my hole.
