Current Jetstar domestic rosters and salary

Can anyone give me information on what a current roster is like for a Jetstar domestic pilot and also is $82,000 p.a. correct for a F/O.

Cheers

The Kavorka 26th May 2007 01:39

FO's make up to $100.000 including O/T, base around 83.000 going to 84.500 end of fin year

Working around 15-17 days a month....rosters are ok

TurbineDreamer 26th May 2007 01:55

Thanks, "The Kavorka" how's Newman?

Are you on the A320? Do you think there is any likely hood that the min req's are going to be lowered from 2000 TT.

Cheers

Yes mate 320...

There's rumors of huge expansion taking the current pilot numbers from 350 to 800+...therefore they will have to drop minimums

According to a managment pilot I spoke to recently they beleive they will find it hard to find required numbers...hopefully meaning good times ahead...fingers crossed...:ok::ok:

Kavorka

Thanks for being so candid and giving others the benefit of your info.

Quikie....is that number gross, before tax - or net?

Cheers

The Kavorka 26th May 2007 22:27

Gross

net weekly around 1300-1700 depending on O/T

Minus the payments on the $33000 loan for the type rating of course

TurbineDreamer 27th May 2007 04:35

Is it a good airline to work for, as far as the people, the rosters go. I know that they don't pay as much as some and you pay for the type rating, but what are they like.
Comments as constructive as possible please, I know there will be the temptation to get off track here.

I asked a Qantas pilot at the airport the other day about Perth bases for pilots. He said that Qantas didn't offer any but Jetstar would soon. Does anybody have anymore info on this? Would it be international or
domestic Jetstar pilots based in Perth?
Also how many nights away a month do Jetstar pilots do on average?

Mr. Hat 27th May 2007 05:10

I'm wondering when the demand for crews will force the QF group to simplify their recruiting process at any stage.

At the moment all the different stages for each and every job be it EA sunnies J* or mainline.

Costs a hell of a lot more in time and money to jump thru the QF hoops than most other carriers.

DUXNUTZ 1st Jul 2007 22:30

Does Jet* do the same interview setup as Qantas mainline?

DUXNUTZ 2nd Jul 2007 00:13

Okidoki,
Just went in an updated details. Sent in the application. Returned a couple minutes later and found the pilots link missing in the jobs available section!

Mate, could you let on a lil bit more re: the planning exercise?

Approx Time Till Upgrade?

The Kavorka,
Just a couple of questions mate.

Is the time frame for upgrades still around 18 months or has that increased?

Any idea what the current/ future requirement is for 320 F/O's, opposed to the 330 S/O requirement?

Thanks for the info:D

The Kavorka 2nd Jul 2007 05:28

I'd say 3-4 years for upgrade if you got in now, could be as little as two still though depending on 787 and keeping 330's.

Heaps of recruiting still on both types...
