BN and ML first, then SY soon after - and possibly CS and PH. (as told by an engineer)

AD may be a maintance base for the EMb so
may see some in SA but not for some time.

Spoke to one of the Management Engineers who is heading up the maintainence systems for the EMB, they are finding it very difficult to plan this EMB maintainence as the management above them are refusing to tell them where these EMB are going to be based, they keep stating this commercial sensitive info. Would not be surprised if the wheel re-invents itself with HBA, LST, CB and other similar ports pop their heads up!!

Time will tell. Enjoy the $25US endorsement for a $62AUS bas pay as an FO.
Sorry, just stiring the pot!

Surely Sydney would have to be high on the list, it has the largest regional ports...;)

No worries mate 17th Feb 2007 07:23

I heard DJ are planning on 3 bases for all the flying (including 737) with BNE: 40%, SYD: 30% and MEL 30%.

Aussie 17th Feb 2007 07:29

thats same as what i heard. I didnt know the were keen on Syd though!?

Rumours are rife that a SYD base will be up and running mid year. Some of the SYD people have already been told unofficially that this is happening for the 737.
Would make it easy to then put EMB into CBR, CFS and BNK from SYD.
As we are only starting with 3 planes I cant imagine that you would need many flight crew. Cabin crew will be crossed trained I am lead to believe.

If it is only 3 aircraft I would expect them to be doing Syd-Cbr-Mel shuttles all day!

Makes for an interesting month of flying....:}
