Wotsa "penalty unit" worth?

Found a reference in a AQIS document that claims a penalty unit is $110, is it? Can anybody tell me where it is defined/posted/promulgated?

Section 4AA of the Crimes Act

Section 4AA of the Commonwealth Crimes Act 1914 says:

4AA Penalty units

(1) In a law of the Commonwealth or a Territory Ordinance, unless the contrary intention appears:

penalty unit means $110.
It's so the Parliament only has to change one provision (this one) to change the size of fines across the board.

Erm, mainly not yet attempting my PPL theory test. I'm spending some quality time (I'll turn off PROON shortly and get into it, really...) perusing all the arcane ways I can volunteer to fund our Feral Gummint's exploits with a penalty unit or two.
