HeviLift
Hi,
I would like as much information as possible about HEVILIFT. I have looked at their website. But I'd like to know more inside information about their checking & training system... Pay scales... Living/conditions... how safe Pt Morseby is. Where they fly to? The airstrips? All that kind of stuff. From what I can gather thus far, I think they look like a very professional outfit and treat their pilots well. Thanks WWA :ok: |
Earlier today i was just thinking about posting the same thing, HeavyLift Cargo is an airline which isn't often talked about...
Any Infomation would also be appreciated. Kind Regards. |
Two different operations - one's PNG and the other is civilization!!!

I do believe you have the wrong company. In my day (before the Golf course) it was Pacific Helicopters (owned by Egg with Teeth) at Tabubil. |
Animalclub,
"Egg with teeth ?" You mean Mal S ? |
Animalclub...Oh!...one notes they have a base in Tabubil? :hmm:
When I first went to Tabubil it were about 1500' long and as greasy as a butchers.... Just up the road from the salubrious palatial donga diwai that Biscuit ears provided for his Bongo drivers in Kiunga :} Hmmm.... where was that hut that had the mountain of dead SP cans behind it? Cairns Helo crew springs to mind  |
DP
That's the man. I believe he owns Airlink now... and he's the Eastern Highlands provincial Governor now. Tinny I lived in that beautiful donga at Kiunga before I was transferred to TBG with GV. TBG still feels a bit touchy when you land in the wrong direction!!! |
Airlink gone pinis. He still Governor SHP. Expanding Pacific's fleet.
|
So..... Any word on pay, living conditions, checking and training etc.
Cheers DW |
Semi-Rigid, I think you mean 'EHP' - SHP a different kettle of fish! SHP and Enga... mmm, fight now - think later. Even nationals from other provinces are still afraid!
|
Have a few mates in there and sounds like a good outfit to advance your career with.
They must have about 3-4 otters and a similar No of kingair 200's, off the top of my head co-jos are on about 45 K Aus with ever forth month back home, captains have different tour options (month on/off 65 K, 6 weeks on, 3 off 90 K), I could be wrong. you also travel a little as they have contracts in Manyama & the solomons, the C/P is a stand up kinda guy and the equipment looks well maintaned (mining contracts etc). If offered I'd take it, hell - I may even foward a cv myself, ha!!! :} |
Discus, Heavylift Cargo is an operation with a few crews working out of Australia, running one old B727 freighter under some other offshore AOC name. They did have the world's only airworthy Belfast freighter as well, but I think it is now grounded. I could be wrong on the airworthiness part, but Heavylift Cargo no longer comes up on the CASA website as holding an AOC.
The Hevilift under general discussion here is a much larger PNG company. |
Lineboy,
Much appreciated, Thanks DW |
I was chatting with the CP at the Balus bar the other night. Stand up guy. :ok:
He was also the only guy to bother replying to emails from PNG when I was looking for work. was a positive email as well. Was also chatting with the C&T guy at another location as well. great guy to chat with and certainly knows his stuff. all around good operation....... well, the fixed wing side at least. |
Does Hevilift still provide the Twin Otter for Air Sankamap at Buka or has that bitten the dust?
|
Is Heavylift Cargo still operating Shorts Belfast and B727s?
|
zeflo, not in Australia, unless they 'pass through' although i have seen the 727 and belfast in Perth recently (8 months or so???)
i believe the aircraft are registered in the philipines |
wasnt the belfast sent to be scrapped a little while back?
saw at least 1 727 in brisneyland yesterday. |
Belfast and 1 B727 parked in their normal position in Cairns for the last couple of weeks at least!:ok:
|
PMG, the chief is definitely a stand up guy
Very loyal and honest... VERY professional. There's no doubt about his knowledge, and he doesn't want you to ever comprimise your knowledge either. probably why hevilift have such a good saftey record... I liked flying for him |
A couple of week ago Hevilift (PNG) advertised for a Deputy CP. They wanted a lot of experience (10,000 hours) but also Dash8? Anybody in the know as to why the Dash8 requirement? Are they finally after many years of wanting to, moving into bigger aircraft in PNG?
