Jetstar pay...

Hey I know this should be somewhere on "Downunder" but my searches didn't find it.

Can anyone working at Jetstar tell me what the pay is; Both for F/O's and CPT's?

Thanks... :ugh:

cunninglinguist 1st Sep 2006 01:14

82/133 ish plus overtime after 75 hrs ( A320 )
33.5k joining fee ( tax deductible )

ozbiggles 1st Sep 2006 05:03

If you want to get all the facts and work it out for Jetstar(49 pages), Virgin (15 pages) or Qantas 300+ pages!) got to the wagenet website and search the airline of your dreams and get all the details. It might not be the most current info but it is the 'real' stuff. But be warned you will need a lawyer/accountant and a nurse to understand the qantas one.

archangel7 1st Sep 2006 05:22

Mad~!!

33.5 joining fee??? WTF!!!

Ok, my dear Ppruners, this might get a bit personal….. You know where I'm going, don't you?
I want all of you to know how much I regret the embarrassment we as pilots have found ourselves and we are set up for disaster. This is arguably the biggest issue we face as pilots. I fear for our boys and our future pilots. This sort of issue is destroying our security, our spirit and definitely our culture. If there is a joining fee of that amount and you are paying for it and destroying our future. It’s so bloody simple! If we all refused to pay these ridiculous joining fees including for virginblue, what do you think would happen? these people need pilots don’t they? We all love our jobs and we all have a dream to fly for an airline and these people know it and take it for granted. 33.5k joining fee…. Fk that! And to all of those airline pilots who pay to be employed with VB and J* You should be ashamed of yourselves. You have ruined the game for the other people and it’s bloody frustrating. I will never pay for an endorsement and NEVER fly for a low budget airline because of this. And I will never apply for Qantas because of this cadets issue and I’m not explaining my self…click on the search button and type in cadets you will see what I’m talking about!!!!…Overseas airlines are always in demand for airline pilots and are still claimed to be on a high scale. Australian aviation industry is a filthy rotten tomato and the people who run the airlines are friggen scums.

* I long for ANSETT

Woomera Edit: You are most welcome to apply for employment with Ansett if you wish. Spewing forth with insults has earned you some time off to think about your application.

I'm pretty sure they had a cadet program too. It was widely considered to be significantly more nepotistic than the QF system. :E

(Less than 10% of the early QF cadets (early '90s) were related to QF drivers). :D

Hey Woomera Your bias is incredible. A guy gets on and has a spray, gets some things off his chest, actually says nothing that quite frankly isn't spot on the mark, but because Archangel dared to growl at your beloved Jetstar, you bin him. That post was so far off binnable. Get your Jetstar undies off and start putting some independent moderating into action.

And KEG, thought you would be smart enough to see what the guy was saying. He said he is not a fan of the cadet scheme without saying why - but you shoot back with an "ANSETT had 'em too" comment by way, I believe, of implying hypocricy. YES the Ansett cadet WAS riddled with Nepotism. Ever thought that this might be the reason Archangel does not like the pay for the job schemes, be they cadet schemes or endorsement funding??

Woomera,

I strongly disagree with your actions to take Archangel off for any ammount of time. He was merely expressing a stong opinion in which many many others of us agree with. No personal names were mentioned, no swearing occured etc etc. There have been planty of worse posts in the past, which have not even been edited by you guys. So I suggest you have a think about what this guy is saying and weather it was really worth being banned for. Me thinks not. :=

Good on you Archangel !!!!! You have many other followers........

yeah nice response woomera

I too think that was a bit harsh Woomera.

Bo!

The post you can see is the edited version. The deleted content was in breach of the 10 thingies. I could have chosen to delete the whole post, but didn't.

I do not have to, and will not justify my actions to you or anyone else (apart from PPRuNe HQ), rodney rude. As I have written in previous posts: Of the various individuals that make up Woomera, MY future has probably been the most adversely affected by the incarnation of Jetstar. I think I'm quite impartial on the topic of Jetstar, all things considered.

The post remains edited. The originator remains in the Sin-bin.:=

End of story.

Isn't it about time we got off this "woomera" thing anyway???

Why does D&G have to be the only forum where you can't tell who's saying what out of the moderators (who obviously have opinions too)????

If you're gonna call yourselves "woomera/eastern states or cranky or whatever", why not just get individual names and be done with it. What are we hiding here. This multiple-personality mod thing is less than ideal.....

Well-said Archangel, at least in the edited version. As for cadets...... when did Ansett have 'em???

Woomera (Eastern States) may I respectfully suggest and request that you outline and highlight which are your words and which are the original posters. Editing a post without highlighting the edit, and then binning the poster (therefore giving them no right of reply) seems less than fair. I don't know if I agree with what he said or not, since I dont know which are your words...
Sure, it's Danny's playground, and we play at his convienience and within his rules, but fair's fair isn't it?

Is this a fair dinkum joining fee (ie, like what some flying schools are doing) or is this the cost of the type endorsement?

please tell me you're joking. :ugh:

The Jetstar contract is kicking around a few of the lo co offices here in the UK. The vast majority of Aussies have said that it isn't worth going back to Australia for.

archangel7 8th Sep 2006 11:40

NOW THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!! thanks to everyone who understood my pain!
Even though it was unfair that I was banned! Why was I banned Woomara? The real reason! Everyone must agree to the Forum guidelines, BUT, BANNED for 8 days??? THAT IS JUST RIDICULOUS!!...when.... I never used any foal language. Banned for 8day's makes you wonder. Which I think is WAY over top, considering you deleted what you thought was not appropriate anyway, which in my eyes wasn’t anything crazy but just the truth... does the truth really hurt you that much that you need to ban me for 8 days?what is the real reason why I was banned woomera?

Woomera, I don’t know if you’re going to ban me after saying this........But you are the rotten tomato in this industry that I'm talking about...But, whatever woomara. I could say a lot of things, but you might ban me...It's a thin line between the phone line and having to deal my someone like me in the real world buddy! I will take this further, if you atempt to unfairly dismiss me from this site....

You stuffed up woomera, You weren’t expecting over a thousand hits now where you?

That sounds like a full course paid up front. Would you still have to pay that fee if it is indefinite how far you will go or if you will stay at that flying school? And like if you pay after each lesson rather than up front?
