Jetstar Shenanigans!!
I was led to believe that the new HR boss (RG) was not going to allow the "mates" deals of the past to continue. :hmm:
A couple of the very latest "direct entry" Captains are raising some serious eyebrows. A few points;
And another guy, who also has only flown the 737, been given a Direct Checkee position?? Currently employed very, very experienced Airbus Captains are being downgraded to F/O to make way for this??? :ugh: Why? |
If the direct entry checkie is who I think it is then he was a previous A320 checkie for a number of years and has over a decade on type. Get your information checked before you spray the fertilizer...........
|
And the problem is? For years the Impulse "mates" system has been of exactly the same ilk..
The guy who has been recruited by Jetstar as a direct entry checkie has flown the A320, and he has allot of valuable experience in checking and management..something that Jetstar need. Recruiting guys with allot of experience in checking and management roles seems to me to be a good policy at Jetstar.. both for the share holders and the long term future of Jetstar. With a number of guys now failed the A320 rating, one ending up in an office job, and a further two guys failures in the sim on recurrency, if I was an Impulse "mate" in Jetstar, I'd shut the hell up, put my nose to the grindstone and do my job and stop whinging and whining about the ex Ansett guys. |
I know of several type rated 330 F/os that were unsuccessful with Jetstar , cant figure it myself.

Coaldemon et al
There have indeed been a couple of direct A320 checkies hired recently. I will have you know that I do indeed check my info before posting. Therefore, the indviduals I refer to are not the same and the info above is very correct.:= The two aforementioned are doing their conversion training at present. BTW. It was in no way a slur against them (although one of them did fail the QF intake testing 4 times:bored: ), just a another example of the imbalance in the recruiting system and the resulted downgrading of better qualified individuals. :{ Rambo I have a couple of A330/320 Capt mates who were told "you are not qualified", and would not be invited for the selection process. These guys are very well educated, experienced and certainly meet QF requirements for A330 command. :ugh: |
B737NG CCQ to 787 is not correct.
B737NG to 787 Differences Type Rating will be about 8 days but you must have 500+ on the NG. This comes straight from the factory. As we were looking for slots.:E |
Seems everyone should double-check their info - including the ones spraying fertiliser at the ones spraying fertiliser!
AJ's made quite a few blunt, witnessed comments regarding maintaining strict control over the 'culture' at JQ. None of this, if true, would be surprising. |
Both of the aforementioned are ex-AN and most recently flew in NZ.
No B.S being spread here. Dutch'jelly'roll should heed his own advice. Interesting to see "culture" and "Jetstar" mentioned together. ;) 737 to 787 "differences" in just 8 days.....marvellous, truly (in all seriousness) marvellous.:ok::hmm: |

Niffty indeed...considering a 320 to 330 CCQ course for current Jetstar management (and friends) takes about 2 months.
|
Ahhhh you see here in Europe we dont re invent the wheel as they like to back home.
or maybe its just for the Jetstar flying club patronage? Cant comment on Airbus CCQ being two months but i cant see 2 months being for real as some of our guy have gone from BBJ to ACJ, full course in 5 weeks. Is this a Jetstar requirement or is it a CASA thing? The Lufthansa CBT ground school for the NG can be done in two weeks some guys finished the course in a week and passed the relevant exam and spent then next week doing the 320 CBT and passed that to! As for 320 to 330 two months.......'id be bored as batsh!t after 4 days. |
Tried to ask the JPC but all that was said was'confidentiality clause.'

Okay...hot off the press (and sort of explains things.)
The 59 yr old 737 driver is a long time mate of those high up. Word around the herd today was...hush,hush he is a "mate". So he will be a 330 Capt for the next 12 months and then be a Checkee (which means he can still fly, but the other Captain will be the pilot in command???) Some sort of "pay as you go" deal for the endorsement.... The other guy is well...just another "mate". To the "Jetstar Woomera"; Clear to close this thread if you wish.:ok: Wind your neck in mate, there is no such Woomera around here and in any event we practice a policy of discriminating equally between all of the airlines.:E |
I understand RG is an ex Ansett HR employee. Probably also helps to explain a few things.
AIPA why didn't you think of this, it would have save a 737/ 767 or two conversion for us old blokes |
RG
my understanding RG was in BA (from my contacts he did not leave much of an impression), then was the duty free manager in QF, ended up as operations manager in J* was sidelined as the level of experience was not there. now HR, go figure:ugh: :*

there is no such Woomera around here and in any event we practice a policy of discriminating equally between all of the airlines These guys have systematically undermined our entire industry, but comment stating that truth simply is NOT allowed on this site. Yes, well. I guess I'll just wind my neck in too, eh? |
