GADRIVR,
last i checked, AFTS had a few PA28's,a couple of c152's and a pretty good sim too... not the cheapest at the airfield, but not the most expensive..

Are looking to taking the full-time CPL/ATPL path on a full time basis or do you want to do a PPL and simply fly for the sheer pleasure of it ?

That choice will have an impact on your decision.

I would recommend not making a choice on price alone. In the long run the variances in costs between schools tend to even themselves out. The instructing staff, aircraft fleet and the teaching approach are a lot more important.

AFTS have a good reputation. I have met a few graduates including those that have gone onto ATPL and airline jobs.

PM me if you want any specific help - like a few people, Ive been through looking at schools at Bankstown ... I am no expert but can give you my $0.02 worth.
