320 Endorsement
Can some please tell me where I can do a 320 rating around Australia and cost. Thanks

Now that the old Ansett A320 sim is no more, the only A320 sim in Australia resides at Alteon in Brisbane. Furthermore, self-sponsored type ratings are not an option, as they will only talk to you if you have already been given the nod by JQ. Apparently, their training/SOP's are based on JQ procedures.

Apparently, their training/SOP's are based on JQ procedures. I have used the Alteon sim a while back and they were FCOM then. I dont know who owns the facility now but to reject business does not make sense. |
So your saying that Alteon only do A320 ratings for JetStar? That doesn't make very good commercial sense.
ferrari You might want to try Air New Zealand. |
Perhaps its a case of JetStar having purchased all of Alteon's A320 capacity. 27+ A320s in a year or so is a not too small task.

you might want to try air new zealand in auckland or alteon in china/singapore i think? or Regional Manager & Sales

A320 Rating
Try North West Airlines in the US. they will do it for USD12,500 the CD's will be posted to you before the course for self study. If you have trouble getting their number, you could get it through Eagle Jet in Florida.
The B737 Rating is a lot cheaper its done on the -300 but the rating covers all variants. In the past CASA would accept the training and endorse your licence. However you would need that in writing beforehand in case something changes midstream. |
I'm pretty sure Alteon will still take your money and do your training. They may be full up at the moment with JetStar transitions, but I seldom see the sim used in the midnight to 4 am block. They do use FCOM, not Jetstar procedures and the cost was somewhere in the $35000 AUD range.
BTW, the training aint that good and a US option may be better. |
