Mate......I initially had a kiwi CPL,ended up going overseas, and getting the FAA ATP,then getting the kiwi ATPL,......what do you need to know?...I get the feeling its the process?,If thats your concern, not a big deal really.
Basically it amounts to getting time, having the money, doing the tests and flight tests(a green card helps)and from experience it is the same going both ways.....maintaining currency, having the logbooks certified and doing a flight review.Flying and working within the FAA arena is not a problem as my 6 month checks take care of the ATP and instructor ratings.
I do the same once a year in kiwi,ie have my logbooks checked and signed off(Lower Hutt) and do a flight check. Not cheap, but its the price you pay to stay marketable.......hope that is of help....PB
