Balloons as a business

Just wondering, is balloon flying as profitable as business.Considering to buy balloon and run a small enterprise somewhere in OZ or NZ.Any tips appreciated.

RA,
Can not comment on financials. However, we had two balloons relocate from Alice to Broome, had a ride and it was great.
The pilot advised Broome was great as the landing area was very flat extensive and easy to get to, more importantly because of the tourist season (May-Oct) wind patterns both morning and evening flights were possible. I went on the evening flight and was impressed.
One balloon was a 16 man the other 8 man. Wish you luck and if you are considering Broome message me and I will ensure you get both tourism and resort backup and help. Mike

can't remember where i saw it advertised (maybe Cairns) but an aussie balloon company was recently bankrupted and is selling all their equipment via auction.

up side - you may get a great deal on the price and a full set-up ready to go.

down side - why is it for sale in the first place?

TNX

OK,my own view.
Only benefits:1.Obtaining PPL(B)-CPL(B) less cheaper then FW licences.
2.No parking fees,fuel expenses,etc.
3.Simplicity of driving hot air balloons.
Something else?

Be careful not to let anyone know that you are making money or Dicko will want a Balloon airline too. Then when things get cut-throat expect BalloonStar to start-up.
