B737NG to B777 Conversion

As the rumour mill at VB gathers steam that there may be a B777 order on the horizon to cover Pacific expansion the boys want to know about a conversion course.

Emirates are offering NG Captains direct entry Command on the B777, so what does the conversion entail and how long does it take ?

Giddy up !

jetblues,

from what i can gather it seems as though if you have the 737 ng rating, it is a reduced ground school followed by 3-6 sim sessions, but don't quote me on this just a rumour i heard! it seems to make sense because now the 737 checklist philosphy is being adapted to the rest of the boeing "fleets"! it is the same think as the airbus people ie a318-a340 doesn't take that long, so i think from a marketing point of view boeing are covering lost ground from the past.

More to the point, who would foot the bill for the 777 training, in the unlikely event that this rumour moves from the realm of fantasy to fact??
