Hazardous taxyway lights at Mascot

Are any other flyers concerned about the new holding point lights at KSA? I have only seen those around taxyways G4, G5 and E, but assume they are changing all over the field.

Intead of being safely off the concrete, they are now in boxes about 2' high and 3-4 meters onto the taxyway, making a previously sterile area a real hazard. Who will be the first to scrape a flap or bump into one?:ugh:

Maybe we better stick to the taxiway, thereby avoiding them. :ok:

A well-thought-out answer, Capt Fathom.

On an airfield that is bleating about the cost of enlarging everything to take the Airbus 380s, they are narrowing the available spaces.

It could turn a minor miscalculation, previously harmless, into something major or at the very least, expensive and runway-blocking.

People's perception of hazardous will differ. I really hadn't noticed the lights at all. Is this good or bad?

PS...Flying a aircraft is hazardous! Well, that's my perception.
