To Eve and the family, our thoughts are with you. Chris was a good man and loved flying.
Kavu 30 January 2005 The two men who died in a light plane crash near Queenstown yesterday were on a cannabis reconnaissance flight. Police have revealed that a detective from Queenstown was on board the plane, along with the pilot. The single-engined Cessna 172 went down in good weather in the Gibbston Valley just after midday yesterday. Police have now revealed it was on a routine reconnaissance flight, looking for plots of cannabis. The pilot, Chris Scott, was from the Bay of Plenty. His passenger was Detective Travis Hughes from Queenstown. District Commander George Fraser is extending his condolences to both families, and says the tragedy has hit everyone working in the force hard. Accident inspectors are at the scene today. © 2005 NZCity, IRN |

Chris will be sadly missed by all those who new him. A good man, and far too young to go.
Rest in peace mate. |
Condolences again to Eve and the kids.
There would have to be a good handfull of pilots out there now who would not be where they are now had Chris not given them a chance in thier early days. RIP |
A sad, tragic event taking a young, dedicated individual way before his time.
Thoughts and condolences to Eve and her young family. I'll always remember Chris telling me of his dream to operate his own Cessna Grand Caravan over White Island and the Bay of Plenty. It was a grand dream and still will be. Keep flying high Chris :ok: S2K |
