A light plane with four people on board has crashed near Taupo.

Emergency services were alerted when distress beacons were activated early this afternoon.

The crashed plane has been found at Kuratau, on the west side of Lake Taupo.

Police say all four people on board have been found alive and uninjured.

They are still trying to establish what happened.

Meanwhile there has been a second air emergency - this time at Hamilton airport.

The light plane has landed safely after the pilot reported undercarriage problems, sparking a full alert.

Any news?

Any news about the twin at HN? Just curious................;)

The twin at HN was really a non-event.

First flight out after a big refit. Looked like a potential problem with the undercarrige but would appear that it must have been a gear unsafe indication. Fortunatly landed without incident and I imagine spent the rest of the day in the hanger fixing the glitch.
