CYA show cause 2rd April. CASA revenge?

After a number of safety issues involving CYA aircraft of recent months CASA has apparently issued CYA with a show cause notice to be heard on 2rd April. Is this the end of an era? CASA has apparently been riding on the back of this establishment for some time now, particularly the Townsville office and the incident with the C208 and PA 31 doesnt help. CYA have a high standard of RPT check and training under a CAR 217. system, but yet after every audit CASA change the goal posts to suit themselves. Author Paul Phelan from Cairns wrote a very interesting article called " failure 1" some years ago concerning CASAs underhanded tactics. Could CYA be another victim ?

Just look at 'Operation Spinner" at Bankstown with a particular operator?

Made the Authority boys look real stupid!!!

Just like the CIA & FBI, just too many fools wanting the top possie and the task gets overlooked.

Operation Spinner?

What was Operation Spinner?

I hardly think CASA is treating CYA unfairly, under the present management regime they have had more accidents and incidents in the past 2 years than CYA has seen in the previous ten years, work that one out.

The recent PA31 and C208 is the tip of the ice berg, I would hate to see the end of CYA, but it's certainly not looking good for them.

Note: the C206 fatality was before the present managements appointment.

On a personal note I studied under their present GM, he is a fool.

Any operator with the 2 year track record of CYA should expect the latex glove treatment.

Today being the 02APR04, what was the outcome ?. When will the C208 report be out ?.

Heard on the grape vine (PJ's) their CP has had another action taken against him, not being in the aircraft whilst engines running, is this true ?.

CASA proves itself to be a toothless tiger if they don't stop operators like this, is this CP also the same pilot that had a rather short stint of employment with GAM in CS a couple of years ago?.

And their latest AOC appears to have only been renewed for 2 months, now that has to be a record.
